Why

The Link Stryjewski Foundation was created to address the persistent cycle of violence and poverty, as well as the lack of quality education and job training opportunities available to young people in New Orleans. Providing support to organizations that directly work to end the cycle of violence and poverty that effect the lives of children. Our mission is to help nourish and educate the youth of New Orleans, allowing them to realize their potential and become active positive members of our community.

Kingsley House and YEP (Youth Empowerment Project) are the first two organizations to be supported by the Link Stryjewski Foundation.

KINGSLEY HOUSE

The mission of Kingsley House is to educate children, strengthen families and build community. Kingsley House is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Southeast Louisiana by collaboratively working with others to build a comprehensive system of services and resources that meet the needs of our recovering community. We help Kingsley House in many ways including being a founding chef participant in Boudin and Beer. Boudin and Beer is a new outdoor charity food and music celebration in which a portion of proceeds goes to Kingsley House.

YEP (YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROJECT)

YEP’s founders started the organization in 2004 in order to assist young people returning to New Orleans from juvenile correctional facilities. Since its inception, YEP has earned local, statewide, and national recognition for being at the cutting edge of progressive programs for at-risk youth. YEP has a proven track record of effectively engaging these young people and helping them develop and work toward their educational, vocational and personal goals.
